Some California slang terms

Bail(beyl): To leave a place.  “Hey bro, I’m gonna bail.”
Bomb(bom): When you like something, you can say something is bomb.
Bum(buhm):  To borrow or have a bad experience.
Calling him out : To say someone is wrong.
For example, I decided to wait until after the speech before calling him out on his mistake.
Claimin‘ it : Putting ones identity on to something or someone.
Clutch(kluhch) – When someone does something unexpectedly that helps a situation.
Dank: This is another way to say something is good.
Drag:  That’s a lot of drag. That’s a negative situation.
Heavy(hev-ee): Used when something is very sad or depressing.
Mob: Showing up unexpected at a friend’s house with a group of people. “We mobbed him.”

To rock(rok): To wear clothes and accessories with style. “Sorry man, I only rock black clothes.”

The Rosetta Stone



Rosetta (roh-zet-uh) stone: Discovered in 1799 the Rosetta stone has the same inscription in three languages; the top register is ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs (hahy-er-uh-glif-iks), the second Egyptian demotic script and the third is Ancient Greek. With its three languages, it is the key to deciphering ancient Egyptian.  It weighs approximately 1,680 lbs. and was created in the year 196 BC. Currently it is on display at the British Museum.
